Lorca and Granada: A Literary Tour

Federico Garcia Lorca

Lorca and Granada: Beauty, Passion and Tragedy.
A suggested 5 day literary walking tour in the city of Granada and surrounding area explores and celebrates the work of the great Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca, Washington Irving, Gerald Brenan, and the composer Manuel de Falla.

On the first 2 days we explore Granada, visiting The Alhambra, the Parque Federico Garcia Lorca, the poet's summer house, and walking throughout the city.

On the 3rd day explore Valderrubio and Fuente Vaqueros, the meadowlands where Lorca spent his childhood and teenage years and which inspired some of his most important works, including The House of Bernarda Alba and Yerma.

For the fourth and fifth days head up into the hills south of Granada, La Alpujarra, to visit Yegen and the Sendero De Gerald Brenan, and Bubion where Lorca stayed during visits to La Alpujarra.
